Katie has been treating our 14 year old cairn terrier Womble after his two cruciate leg operations and now arthritis, with weekly sessions for the last 4 years. A couple of months ago he suddenly became lame on his back legs, not able to stand, and just falling over if propped up to go to the toilet. Other than that he was his content happy self, not in any distress and still eating.
We took him straight to the vets, who thought it could be muscle spasm, saying he was extremely tight. So they gave him a diazepam injection with tablets to take home, and with the advice we would probably have to make the decision to put him to sleep!!!
We were scheduled to travel in 4 days time! On a two week holiday, so as you can imagine we were extremely distressed, upset and at a loss of what to do for the best. Straight away I messaged Katie to explain the situation, she replied within 30 minutes expressing her sadness and was extremely reassuring. We had his regular appointment thankfully the next day, and luckily for us katie knows him extremely well after four years. She gave us a lot of advice and again reassurance, telling us that we didn’t need to make any rushed decisions, and that we had the time to see if he improved. She reassured us he wasn’t going to get any worse in the time we were away, and that he would either stay the same or hopefully see an improvement. She kindly straight away doubled his physio sessions to twice a week, and gave much needed support, advice and reassurance to my parents, where Womble was staying and to us while we were away, and thankfully after 3 weeks he was back to his old man self! Even doing his bunny hopping run a few steps which I thought I would never see. We are just extremely happy and lucky to still have him with us, and will be forever grateful to Katie.
Womble has always loved his sessions with Katie, and gets extremely excited and vocal when he hears her arrive, but equally relaxes into his treatment like he is in a spa!
I cannot recommend Katie highly enough. She is always there to hand out advice and support. Without her we wouldn’t have Womble with us today, or for as many years!'
"We can't thank Katie enough for all that she did for our dog. He loved his sessions with her. The patience and kindness that was shown undoubtedly makes Katie stand out in her field. During lockdown she took the time to message and see how he was doing and we can't thank her enough. He is now doing brilliantly but I wouldn't hesitate to call if I had any concerns in the future."
"Katie has been looking after our cherished Labrador for 4 weeks. His improvement during that time is a credit to Katie's physiotherapy techniques. We highly recommend Katie to all of our dog owner friends."
"Katie has been treating our dog for a hind leg injury. She has been very professional and gained great results for us. We are really happy with the friendly service she has provided."
"We were so pleased with the treatment given to our dog following cruciate ligament surgery. We were given lots of helpful information and exercises with clear instruction. Katie answered all of our questions/concerns and would suggest different ways of doing exercises when one way didn't work for our dog. Most of all our dog enjoyed his physiotherapy sessionsand we have no hesitation in recommending Peak Performance Vet Physio."
"My dog is always happier and more energetic after his sessions with Katie. He only has 3 limbs so physiotherapy does him and his tight muscles the world of good."
"Can recommend Katie, physio has certainly helped my dog and now waiting for a vet referral for my other dog."
"We started seeing Katie at Peak performance when our puppy suffered a fracture. Katie has been so helpful and friendly. Her knowledge of physiotherapy is unbelievable!! She always explained to us what she was doing and why, as well as sending us a tailored rehabilitation programme for our puppy. Katie made us feel really at ease leaving our puppy with her. With Katie’s help our puppy has now made a full recovery. We are so happy we was able to have Katie as his physio as she was always really kind and caring towards him. Katie was very professional in every aspect when dealing with us. Thank you once again for all your help Katie."
"Katie treated our Cocker Spaniel after his operation for a luxating patella, which was carried out at Bury St Edmunds Veterinary Centre. Katie is clearly very knowledgeable in her field of operation and takes time to explain what exercises are needed at home between visits to the surgery. Our dog has made an excellent recovery as a result. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks Katie."
"My not so little dog had cruciate surgery a few months ago and came to Katie for physio, not only was Katie fantastic with giving us exercises to do at home but my dog would walk in with a limp and walk out relaxed and walking 100 times better! She even fell asleep during one of her sessions!! (The dog not Katie)
We only had 5 sessions with Katie and my dog no longer needs physio but if she was to need any more Katie is the only person I will take her too. She explains everything in depth, including an email with pictures of how to do the exercises, which makes everything so much easier and always a call or text away.
Thank you so much Katie."
