Peak Performance Veterinary Physiotherapy is based near Sudbury, Suffolk and provides a mobile service. Specialist canine and equine physiotherapy services are available throughout East Anglia, including parts of Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk.

Peak Performance Vet Physio was established by Katie Hurrell who is a Masters qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist, where she completed 4 years of training at Writtle University College in Essex. She is also a Level 3 qualified Canine Hydrotherapist. Katie is a member of professional governing bodies; RAMP (Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners), NAVP (National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists) and CHA (Canine Hydrotherapy Association), ensuring a knowledgable and professional service. Veterinary Physiotherapists work alongside your veterinarian to provide a gold standard of care for all animals.

In her spare time Katie enjoys riding the horse she shares and walking her dogs. Katie has lived on a farm her entire life and has therefore been bought up around a variety of animals. She has always aspired to work with animals and being a Veterinary Physiotherapist enables her to provide animals with a greater quality of life.

Veterinary physiotherapy and hydrotherapy can be of benefit to our canine and equine friends, whether that is a top performing athlete or simply a domestic pet who is your best friend. Physiotherapy is an essential part of rehabilitation following surgery or injury, as well as helping to maintain good condition, increase strength and prevent any discomfort. A combination of manual therapies, electrotherapies and remedial exercise is used to meet the individual needs of each animal.

Physiotherapy aims to:
  • Reduce pain and discomfort
  • Relieve tension
  • Improve/maintain muscle mass and tone
  • Reduce musculature asymmetry
  • Improve or maintain joint range of motion and stride length
  • Promote circulation - increasing blood flow and lymphatic drainage to accelerate the healing process
  • Improve performance
  • Increase strength
  • Reduce the risk of injury
  • Improve/maintain well-being and quality of life

A combination of evidence based and scientific techniques along with compassion, understanding and a professional approach leads to individually tailored physiotherapy sessions to benefit each animal.
